Calendar
Year 10 students and their families will receive an appointment time for course counselling with one of our teaching staff. It is imperative that all parents and guardians attend the meeting with their child to discuss subject selections for 2024 as well as pathway options for VCE, Vocational Major, tertiary education, apprenticeships and traineeships. There are no scheduled classes for Year 10 students on this day.
Year 9 students will have a course counselling meeting to select their Year 10 subjects. Year 9 students will not attend their scheduled classes on that day. Students will be provided with an interview time and are asked to attend at that time, with their parents or guardians, in order to complete their subject selections. For the remainder of the day, students will be expected to work at home on conducting initial research into their Inquiry project, as instructed by their Inquiry teacher.
VUSC students together with Western Edge Youth Arts present an original Theatre Production, performed over two nights with shows commencing at 6pm.
Tickets are $2 and will be available from the general office as seats are limited. All welcome!
Parent teacher interviews will be held at both campuses from 1.00pm to 4.30pm and 5.30pm to 7.00pm. Bookings for interviews can be made through the Compass parent portal. Parents will be advised via Compass when bookings are open. Interpreters are available for interviews.
We encourage all parents to make appointments to discuss their child’s progress with their teachers. Students are required to be available for their interviews as there are no scheduled classes.
Please contact the College if you require any assistance to book interviews or access reports.
National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence
On Friday 18th August the College will participate in the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence. This important day is a time in our school calendar where we make a stand to say no to all forms of bullying and violence in our community.
Activities will be held at lunch time at both campuses. The Student Wellbeing Team will also share information with students regarding what to do and who to approach if they experience bullying. Student will be encouraged to write positive message to others, and this will help spread positivity across our school.
Eradicating bullying is important to our College not just on this day, but every day. Students will spend time in the lead up to the week learning about the impact of bullying and the role we all play in getting it out of our community with their home group period. If students need support regarding bullying, they should speak with their home group teacher, year level coordinator or a member of the Wellbeing Team.
The college warmly invites our school community to support our music students and enjoy some spectacular music performances at the Brimbank Salvation Army Hall in Sydenham. This event will showcase the hard work and talent of our music students and staff. We look forward to seeing you there.
Students and their families who have enrolled in Year 7 for 2024 are warmly invited to attend the Year 7 Information Evening at 6.00pm to receive vital information regarding their enrolment at the College and the upcoming Orientation Day in December. This meeting will be held online using Microsoft Teams. Families have been provided with the link to join the meeting. Please contact our office on 9363 1155 if you have not received this meeting link.
